Accessibility Statement

2. Accessibility Statement

  • 2.1 Our Commitment

  • Wood U Need Space believes creativity, art, and community should be accessible to everyone. We are dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities through our website and providing clear, transparent guidance regarding physical accessibility across our rural Doi Saket sanctuary grounds.

  • 2.2 Digital Accessibility Standards

  • Our website (www.wooduneed.space) aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. We incorporate the following best practices:

  • Text Alternatives: Providing descriptive ALT attributes for images of handcrafted woodwork, art pieces, and event flyers.

  • Contrast & Legibility: Using high-contrast color pairings and legible typography reflecting our artisanal aesthetic without sacrificing readability.

  • Navigation: Maintaining consistent navigation structures, readable headings, and keyboard-accessible forms for workshop bookings and inquiries.

  • Device Responsiveness: Ensuring fluid scaling and layout adaptation across mobile devices, tablets, and desktop displays.

  • 2.3 Physical Sanctuary & Venue Accessibility

  • Wood U Need Space is situated in a natural, semi-rural garden setting in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai. Because our space is housed within integrated indoor-outdoor wooden architecture, visitors should note the following physical characteristics:

  • Grounds & Pathways: Outdoor garden walkways consist of natural earth, packed gravel, and wooden decking. Certain garden paths may have uneven terrain or gentle slopes.

  • Wheelchair Access & Ramps: The main indoor cafe, art showroom, and central workshop deck have ground-floor step-free or low-threshold ramp access. Garden exploration paths and exterior acoustic zones may require assistance for manual or power wheelchair users.

  • Sanctuary Homestay Rooms: Our two homestay units (Sanctuary 1 and Sanctuary 2) feature traditional elevated wooden thresholds and standard-width bathroom entryways that are not fully ADA/universal-access retrofitted.

  • Service Animals: Trained service animals are welcome throughout public sanctuary grounds and cafe outdoor seating areas.

  • Sensory & Quiet Zones: We intentionally maintain a slow, low-noise environment. Quiet retreat zones are available during open workshops for visitors with sensory processing sensitivities.

  • 2.4 Assistance & Feedback

  • If you require accommodations prior to attending a workshop, screening, or private booking, or if you encounter any digital accessibility barrier on our website, please contact us:

  • Email: wunspace@gmail.com

  • Direct Messaging: Instagram @wooduneed_space

  • Response Time: We aim to respond to accessibility inquiries and accommodation requests within 2 business days.
